St. George Area Parade of Homes: Celebrating 20 Years of Building a Community
Wednesday, 02.03.2010, 01:21pm (GMT-6)

In anticipation of the 20th Annual St. George Area Parade of Homes, excitement is building for the celebration of 20 years of making a positive impact in southern Utah. Hundreds of home building professionals are working feverishly to complete 25 beautiful new homes by opening day – February 12.

As we celebrate 20 years in building a community, the St. George Area Parade of Homes will continue to make a positive impact in building southern Utah. Over 460 Parade homes have been built in Washington County the last 20 years. Many community service organizations have benefited directly from the Parade of Homes, including Habitat for Humanity, and $146,000 has gone to providing education scholarships. Over 423,000 visitors have attended with approximately half coming from northern Utah. The economic benefit to Washington County has been close to a half-billion dollars. This event over the years has created thousands of jobs and continues to inspire people to be excited about the home industry in the midst of current economic struggles.

What draws tens of thousands of visitors to the Parade of Homes year after year? For potential home buyers, it gives them an opportunity to make a dream come true by purchasing one of 25 masterpieces or by choosing one of Utah’s premier builders to build their dream home. It is a great time to buy with low interest rates, available tax credits and competitive home prices.  For recreation enthusiasts, the St. George Area Parade of Homes is the perfect excuse to escape the cold and enjoy the mild climate and breathtaking scenery of southern Utah. For current homeowners, this event offers a glimpse of cutting-edge home building technologies and design. Attendees gain valuable insight and tips while becoming inspired to start a home improvement project.

The St. George Area Parade of Homes has earned an outstanding reputation as one of the best Parade of Homes in the country because of the quality craftsmanship and many unique features displayed in the homes.  Recently, a 2009 Parade home was featured on a nationally televised top-rated network.

The public is invited to attend, February 12-21, and see why approximately 26,000 visitors attended last year’s event. For complete details and to preview the homes, visit www.ParadeHomes.com. This event is presented by the Southern Utah Home Builders Association and Zions Bank. It is sponsored by Questar Gas, Boulevard Home Furnishings, Burton Lumber, KSL Television, Star 98 FM, and The Spectrum.
