THE ELECTRIC THEATER OFFERS A PLETHORA OF MUSIC THIS MONTH
Monday, 01.04.2010, 11:09am (GMT-6)

The Electric Theater is serving up two big nights of music this month. On Friday, Jan. 22, Never Shout Never, Carter Hulsey and Denison are playing. The following Friday, Jan. 29, Shut Up and Deal, 1997, Blessed with a Burden and Chasing Thrill will entertain audiences. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door for the Jan. 23 show and $10 for the following week’s concert.

Never Shout Never is the alias of 18-year-old acoustic pop musician Christofer Ingle who has toured extensively the past couple years and even appeared on TRL – performing “Bigcitydreams” – in 2008. After the release of several EPs, the debut full-length album from Never Shout Never is in the works, being produced by Butch Walker. Never Shout Never, Carter Hulsey and Denison all hail from Joplin, Mo.

Though no one knows the true origin of the band’s name, critics agree that 1997 is worth listening to. The band just released its third album, Notes from Underground, in October and is setting off on an extensive tour – with a new lineup – this year.

Shut Up and Deal hails from Connecticut, a state not known for its music scene. A passionate, driven pop rock band intent on making music that can not only be heard but be felt, Shut Up and Deal has been on a grueling road tour to promote its debut EP Don’t Act Like You’re Not Impressed.
Finally, Chasing Thrill quickly became a hometown favorite in Florida and has been performing on Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos. The band’s debut EP was released in July, and it is now touring to support this effort.
