CHRIS PROCTOR OFFERS TWO SHOWS IN SOUTHERN UTAH
Wednesday, 02.03.2010, 01:48pm (GMT-6)

Chris Proctor, winner of the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship, and popular recording artist will be performing in concert Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6. Z-Arts in Springdale is sponsoring his Friday show at the Springdale Community Center. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Proctor plays at Groovacious in Cedar City at 8:00 p.m.

An internationally recognized six- and 12-string guitarist, composer, recording artist, performer, and clinician for Taylor Guitars, Proctor has produced several books and videos which teach his techniques and compositions for solo guitar, and writes extensively for the guitar press. He is touring to promote his new release and ninth solo recording, Ladybug Stomp.

Proctor is known nationwide as one of the modern masters of fingerstyle guitar, and is at the forefront of contemporary steel-string guitar. His music is rooted in classic Americana, spiced with folk, Celtic, jazz, pop, and classical flavors, all of which are in evidence in the 12 finely crafted original pieces which comprise Ladybug Stomp.

Chris’s warm stage presence and sense of humor, his 12-string and slide work, his adventurous six-string techniques and tunings, his stunning original guitar pieces and arrangements, and his pioneering use of the electronic bow have all made him a favorite with guitar fans everywhere.

For more information on the concerts, go to www.zarts.org or www.groovacious.com. To learn more about the artist, go to www.chrisproctor.com.
