VSU PRESENTS LATEST IN CLINICAL NUTRITION Monday, 03.01.2010, 10:35pm (GMT-6)
On Tuesday, March 23, at 6:00 p.m., the
Vegetarian Society of Utah is sharing “The Latest in Clinical Nutrition, Part
2,” a DVD presentation by Michael Greger, M.D. The event will be held at the
St. George Community Center, 245 North 200 West.
In this 90-minute DVD presentation, Dr.
Greger will talk about common foods and reveal what the latest research
says about the food – is it harmful, harmless or helpful?
A founding member of the American College of
Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Greger, is a physician, author, and internationally
recognized speaker on nutrition, food safety, and public health issues.
He has lectured at the conference of World Affairs, the National Institutes of
Health, testified before Congress, and was invited as an expert witness in the
defense of Oprah Winfrey in the infamous "meat defamation"
trial. A graduate of Cornell University School of Agriculture and Tufts
University School of Medicine, Dr. Greger currently serves as the Director of
Public Health and Animal Agriculture at the Humane Society of the United
States.
